NEW FRANCHISE APPLICATION PROCESS

We recognize that starting a new business venture can be an intimidating process. We have been opening new franchise locations for over twenty years and have streamlined the process in order to eliminate most of the stress factors. We have listed an outline of the steps involved in you becoming a Ruffin's Pet Nutrition franchisee.

1/ APPLY. Please complete the on line Franchisee Application and forward same to our office. About one week after our receipt of your application you will receive our Franchisee Information Package. This package will include the latest information about the company, news articles, recent advertising programs and a comprehensive Franchisee Information Application. Please complete this document, which will include your personal financial information, and forward to our office.

2/ REVIEW. Once we have received and reviewed your Franchisee Information Application we will contact you to set up a meeting here at our office. During that meeting you are encouraged to ask questions and we will find out  more about you and your goals. At this point we can provide you our companies Disclosure Documents. These Documents contain all of the pertinent information about Ruffin's Pet Centre Inc., its owners', its' method of operation and its' franchisees'. The Documents also contains a copy of our franchise agreement. You have two weeks, as a minimum, to review the Documents and agreements. When you feel comfortable with the information contained in the Documents you can contact the office to schedule a second meeting.

3/ PLAN. At our follow up meeting we will answer any questions you may have regarding the discloure documents, we will discuss your goals as a Ruffin's Pet Nutrition franchisee and your geographical preference for locations. Depending upon your preference we may have a data base of available stores and already have the latest demographic data analyzed. We will outline our present goals as a company and with you as a new franchisee. We will encourage you to visit our existing franchisee's and talk to them about their involvement with Ruffins' Pet Centre Inc.

If both parties are willing to proceed we will execute the franchise agreement and begin the site selection process.

4/ LOCATION. With over twenty years in the commercial real estate market we will be able to source an number of suitable locations in your preferred market. We will review with you the variuos aspects of each location and together select the most suitable store for all parties. We will negotiate the lease and any incentives with the landlord on your behalf. Once the lease has been executed we will start the initial inventory order and will work together with you and your contractor on the store layout.

5/ TRAINING. During the location and store development process we will start your training. You will work in a number of our existing franchisee's stores in order to develop hands on customer service and pet care skills. We will train you on our POS system in our head office and will also provide assistance for your business start up, accounting and human resource requirements. After your store is operational we will provide ongoing in store training, weekly at the begining, until both parties are comfortable.

6/ GRAND OPENING. We will have the store open and operating for a few weeks prior to the Grand Opening. This "soft" opening allows the new franchisee to become comfortable as owner/operator and allows us to determine the best program for the stores Grand Opening. We will coordinate the products for sale, the advertsing medium and delivery, the special events associated with the Grand Opening, the press coverage and community support.
